Best of Bingham: Loretta Rush to Serve as Indiana’s Next Chief Justice
Posted in Womens Forum

Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP and The Bingham Greenebaum Doll Women’s Forum would like to congratulate Indiana Supreme Court Justice Loretta Rush, who yesterday was selected by the Judicial Nominating Commission to serve as Indiana’s next chief justice.

Justice Rush will replace Chief Justice Brent Dickson, who announced last month that he would step down as chief justice but remain on the court until reaching the mandatory retirement age of 75 in July 2016.

Justice Rush, who is Indiana’s second female Supreme Court justice, was appointed by former Governor Mitch Daniels in September 2012 and took the oath of office on Nov. 7, 2012. She will be Indiana’s first female chief justice and will join 19 other women heading state supreme courts in the United States.

Prior to being appointed to the Indiana Supreme Court, Justice Rush spent fourteen years as a juvenile court judge in Tippecanoe County. She is married with four children. The Bingham Greenebaum Doll Women’s Forum recently had the pleasure of hosting Justice Rush as a panelist for our “Lean In” event where she enlightened BGD attorneys, clients, and friends of the firm with her experiences in leadership and the law.

Thank you, Justice Rush, for your service to the State of Indiana and congratulations on your new position as Chief Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court! We are honored to count you as a leader in our profession and in our state.

The Best of Bingham is a series of posts by the Bingham Greenebaum Doll Women’s Forum recognizing the professional and community successes of our members, our colleagues and our clients.
