BGD Leads Sale of Prairie View Golf Club
Posted in Real Estate

Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP was recently hired to assist Cardinal Golf, LLC in the sale of Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. Cardinal Golf is majority-owned by the Ackerman family. The family-owned, award-winning Prairie View Golf Club had earned a wonderful brand and reputation in the golfing community for its teaching professionals, training academy, dining and banquet facilities, friendly staff and challenging course play. The venue has also become a popular location for weddings and formal events.

The course, which opened for play in 1997, was originally developed by the Ackerman family and Brian Nicholoff. After owning the course for approximately 16 years, the family decided to sell the course to a group consisting of two local entrepreneurs and a well-known manager of golf courses in and around the Indianapolis metropolitan area.

With support from David A. Adams, Meredith A. Devlin and Tracey Woolsey, the team and Michael B. Davis led Cardinal Golf through the sale process, including all due diligence aspects of the sale. We were able to close the sale after approximately 45 days of its opening.

“Working with this group has truly been a pleasure,” said Terry Vanek of Marcus & Millichap, the real estate broker representing the seller. “Our teams worked very hard and in cooperation to complete the closing.”

The closing was completed on May 20, 2013, just prior to the start of the busy golf season.
