Catch more fish with a bigger net: Networking in a multicultural community

Today’s fast-paced and diversified business world is seeing a rise of equipped, capable and assertive multicultural groups and individuals take the helm and lead their businesses to success. One of the key factors playing a role in this success? Networking – in all its many forms. I recently had the privilege of speaking to two premier business/networking organizations in Indianapolis who focus their efforts around minority business leaders and professionals. These organizations – ALPFA and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) – are both committed to bolstering their members’ professional networks within the community, enhancing opportunities, and building leadership, and I applaud them for the opportunities they provide for individuals to come together and share their unique perspectives with one another. In addition to networking within the broader Indianapolis circle of service groups, nonprofit boards of directors, and industry and trade organizations, connecting with a multicultural network should be considered as just one more way to leverage your business acumen.
