Congratulations to John Vosel, Winner of the Shepard Public Art Project Competition
Posted in General

Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP would like to congratulate John Vosel, who recently won the Shepard Public Art Project competition. Vosel, student at Wabash College, was one of two finalists of the statewide competition honoring former Indiana Supreme Court Justice Randall T. Shepard. Vosel’s concept not only honors Chief Justice Shepard, but is also safe for children to interact with.

In August of 2012, the Indiana State Bar Association’s Leadership Development Academy (LDA) solicited proposal requests from all Indiana liberal arts, design, art, and engineering colleges and universities. Partnered with the City of Evansville, the LDA was able to make this public service project a success.Vosel, who received a $2,000 scholarship, will see his winning design become a permanent monument in Evansville’s Bicentennial Park within a year.

Thank you to the following:

  • The schools and their representatives;
  • The LDA selection committee;
  • The City of Evansville;
  • Most importantly -- the students who submitted proposals.

On behalf of the LDA, we look forward to seeing this monument built in honor of Chief Justice Shepard.
