New York Times Recognizes Unique Art Collection of BGD Client Steve Wilson of 21c

In my experience as a practicing attorney, my clients have often proven to be the most interesting part of my work. My client, Steve Wilson, and his wife, Laura Lee Brown, a spousal team of Kentucky-based contemporary art collectors, are no exception to this rule. Wilson and Brown co-founded 21c Museum Hotels with their flagship property in Louisville, Ky., which has evolved into an expanding brand of boutique hotel, modern art museum and upscale restaurant combinations. Their passion for public engagement of the arts has put downtown Louisville in the national spotlight and boosted local tourism, bringing in visitors from all over the world.

The success of 21c has prompted the brand to expand, opening locations in Cincinnati and Bentonville, Ark., within the past year. 21c has garnered widespread acclaim in the art world and across the hospitality and tourism industries. 21c Cincinnati was recently named the no. 1 hotel in the United States and no. 11 worldwide for 2013 in the Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards, with all three current locations also earning top spots in the rankings for their respective regions.

Wilson and Brown were recently featured in a fascinating New York Times piece that followed the couple on a recent art collecting adventure in Miami Beach. The piece provides an interesting look into the exciting world of art collection and a unique portrait of a dynamic local couple.

Congratulations to Steve Wilson, Laura Lee Brown and 21c Museum Hotels on their recent and continued success!
