Organizations At-Risk of Losing Tax Exempt Status

The IRS released a list of tax exempt organizations in Kentucky that are at-risk of losing their tax exempt status if they do not file a Form 990-N or Form 990-EZ (whichever is applicable) by October 15th.

If these organizations do not file the appropriate Form 990 by October 15th, their tax exempt status will be revoked and they will be required to reapply with the IRS to qualify as tax-exempt.  Income earned during the period between revocation and reinstatement may be taxable and donations to the organization will not be tax deductible.  If you are an officer, director or donor of any of the listed organizations, you may want to alert them to their filing obligation and possible loss of tax-exempt status.
