Rick Shewekah Named Manager of the Kentucky Division for Air Quality Permit Review Branch

Effective April 1, 2010, Rick Shewekah has been named the Manager of the Kentucky Division for Air Quality Permit Review Branch.

Shewekah replaces previous Manager Ralph Gosney, who accepted a position in the Kentucky Department for Natural Resources in late 2009.  Shewekah has been with the Division for 16 years, serving as the Supervisor of the Division’s Surface Coating Section for the past 10 years.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Tennessee in mechanical engineering and worked in the private sector before joining the Division.

The Permit Review Branch is responsible for the review of applications and issuance of permits for sources requiring permits to emit pollutants into the ambient air in Kentucky, including Clean Air Act Prevention of Significant Deterioration construction permits, major source Clean Air Act Title V operating permits, federally enforceable permits for non-major sources and state origin permits.
