Sue Beesley and Matt Price Discuss Annexations at IACT Annual Conference
Posted in General

For years, Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP has supported the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns, or IACT, as a corporate sponsor. However, our attorneys like to go the extra mile when it comes to supporting this excellent organization by offering educational opportunities, as well.

Recently, two Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP partners, Sue A. Beesley and Matthew Price, presented at the IACT Annual Conference and Exhibition, which was held in Indianapolis and attended by approximately 425 local leaders from across the state.

The conference was designed to provide municipal officials with a wide variety of resources and educational opportunities to help the attendees better serve their communities. The conference included sessions on topics such as public meetings and parliamentary law, tax abatement, compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, municipal utility operations, equipping public safety departments, interlocal cooperation and more.

Sue and Matt’s presentation, “The Fiscal and Legal Legwork Necessary for Annexations,” focused on providing practical hints and tips about the requirements for annexation. This is a topic that many municipalities are considering right now due to the growth and expansion of suburbs outside of city or town borders and increased demands for services from the municipality. Sue and Matt have significant experience with municipal annexation and have counseled cities and towns all over the state through this multi-faceted and complex process.

Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP is pleased to have a long history of involvement with such a dynamic and important organization. You can read more about IACT and the organization’s efforts to support municipal leaders around the state on their website.
