Trends in Corporate Governance for Public and Private Companies

Responsible corporate governance is essential to all businesses, both public and private. The regulations of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act require public companies to run a tight ship, but there are many reasons for private companies to have good corporate governance practices, as well. For instance, you could be impeded from selling your business, going public or obtaining financing.

Ivan M. Diamond, an attorney with Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC, covers topics such as corporate governance best practices for private companies, governance issues and trends for public companies, the costs of governance, international governance and compliance issues, and future challenges and changes in a chapter for a new book published by Thomson Reuters/Aspatore, Inside the Minds: Compliance Issues and Trends.

Ivan is Co-Chair of both the Banking and Financial Companies Team and the Securities Team at Greenebaum. He was an attorney with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C., before joining the firm.

If you have a question about a securities-related issue, please feel free to contact Ivan or any other member of Greenebaum's Securities Team.
