Our firm is currently seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Chief Operating Officer. The candidate will possess knowledge of legal or other professional service organizations and have experience managing business operations. Must be able to identify and analyze complex issues and problems in management areas combined with recommendations and implementation procedures for solutions. Candidate must have proven track record of managing economically and efficiently. Must be able to establish priorities and maintain good interpersonal relations and communications with lawyers and team of administrators. Proven consensus building, problem solving and planning skills required.

Chief Operating Officer will manage the planning and business functions as well as the overall operations of the Firm. Will share responsibility with the appropriate partners for strategic and tactical planning, practice management and business development.

Overall education, experience and performance requirements include:

  • BA or BS degree. JD, CPA or MBA a plus.
  • Fifteen plus years of progressive leadership and broad-based management. Direct supervisory experience of teams between 20-40 people.  Strong team building skills. 
  • Proven leadership, organizational, problem solving, and communications skills, coupled with the ability to excel in a fluid and fast-moving environment.
  • Experience managing daily operations and complex projects in a multi-city, multi-office law firm or other professional services firm required.
  • A strong client service philosophy to provide information and support services in a client focused environment.
  • Ability to establish priorities consistent with the firm’s expectations and to communicate goals and expectations to attorneys and staff.
  • Ability to travel when necessary.

Bingham Greenebaum Doll is seeking a Legal Talent Management Manager to serve as a key ambassador for the Firm’s attorney recruiting, training and talent development efforts and diversity and inclusion initiatives. The successful candidate will report to and work closely with the Chief Legal Talent Officer (CLTO) on the Firm’s Legal Talent Management and Associate Development Committee initiatives which include attorney benchmarks and competencies, onboarding, attorney review program, and the design, implementation and oversight of the Firm’s training programs. Additional responsibilities include scheduling law student and attorney interviews; coordinating the attorney review and compensation process and assisting the CLTO with all administrative functions.

 Overall education and experience requirements include: 

  • Three or more years of experience in recruiting, training and talent development in a law firm or other professional services organization is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree, Juris Doctor, Masters in Organizational Development or Human Resources Management, or other advanced and related degree is a plus.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office software applications and experience using viDesktop or similar proprietary software.
  • Self-starter, excellent interpersonal, time management, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a group and one-on-one with partners, associates and professional staff; and maintain discretion with confidential employee and employer information.
  • Requires flexible schedule (often requires more than a 37.5 hour workweek) and travel to other Firm offices.
