2008 Governor's Conference on the Environment
The 32nd annual Governor's Conference on the Environment will be held October 6-7, 2008, at the Lexington Convention Center. The theme of this year's event is "Go for the Green." Accordingly, the presentations and workshops will focus on ensuring a green environment, implementing green practices, and building green communities and lands.
The conference's keynote speaker will be Bob Berkebile, an architect who last year was tapped by the Kansas governor to design a green city from the rubble of Greensburg, Kansas. The town was completely destroyed by a tornado in May 2007.
Greenebaum attorney Jack Bender will be among the presenters at the conference. Jack will speak at 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 7 about the environmental impacts of failing or under-designed wastewater and drinking water systems.
Registration for the conference is $150 for both days, $100 for Oct. 7 only, and $50 for the Oct. 6 reception and dinner only. Online registration ends Sept. 29. If you choose to register at the conference, an additional $25 fee will be added to the registration cost.
If you have any questions regarding environmental legal issues, please feel free to contact a member of Greenebaum's Environmental and Natural Resources Team.
