The National Freedom of Information Coalition 2014 FOI Summit and Annual Conference
Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP partner Daniel Byron will serve as the Indiana Coalition of Open Government (ICOG) delegate at The National Freedom of Information Coalition (NFOIC) 2014 Freedom of Information Summit and Annual Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Oct. 23-24, 2014.
The annual FOI conference is crucial to helping foster an open exchange of information through networking. The 2014 summit will feature Tom Blanton, Director of the National Security Archive at George Washington University, as the keynote speaker. In addition to the keynote, several panels will discuss current events concerning open government and managing coalition issues.
The NFOIC strives to be an educational and outreach resource to member organizations and to counsel elected and appointed officials on their duties to providing open government. Their goal is to ensure everyone’s right to information while assisting public institutions efficiently uphold their legal obligations.
Byron is the Media and First Amendment Law Team Leader at BGD, and recently hosted a law symposium involving four African nations in the firm’s Indianapolis office on behalf of ICOG and The International Center.
