Webinar: Effective Opening Statement and Closing Argument: Winning Your Case From The Very Outset

08.26.2015

Don’t forget to register for the upcoming Federal Bar Association CLE webinar about opening and closing arguments from Daniel J. Donnellon entitled “Effective Opening Statement and Closing Argument: Winning Your Case From The Very Outset” on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Attendees will get insight into the very different persuasive skill sets required for the federal trial lawyer. Dan’s one-hour presentation will explore the Art of Persuasion, Persuasive Story-telling in Opening Statement without "arguing" facts or inferences, and the essential theme, structure, and methods for an effective closing argument.

The webinar has been approved for 1.0 CLE credit, and will be especially beneficial to younger litigation attorneys who can participate at a very low cost. Additional information, including registration, is available here.

Dan has been a trial lawyer for 29 years. He taught Advanced Trial Advocacy for 5 years at the University of Cincinnati College of Law; he also created and coached the law school’s trial competition program that, within his tenure, saw a team win its regional division and advance to the National Trial Competition finishing in the top ten in the nation. In 2013, the University of Cincinnati Law Alumni Association presented Dan with the Adjunct Faculty Award for Outstanding Teaching Excellence. He is a frequent lecturer for the Ohio State Bar Association on the topic of trial skills, and has been invited three times by the Ohio Supreme Court to teach Continuing Judicial Education for Ohio’s trial judges.
