BGD Attorney Swims from Alcatraz to Raise Money for Cancer Research
Firm partner Carolyn Clay Hall has already conquered the cold, wavy, and rumored shark-infested waters of the San Francisco Bay once, and she intends to do so again on June 7, 2014. Hall will swim from Alcatraz Island to San Francisco to raise money for cancer research. Her second swim is in honor of her mother, who is battling ovarian cancer. Hall swam the same course to raise money for the American Cancer Society in honor of her father who died from cancer in 2007. Hall’s fundraising goal for this year is $11,000.
Hall will swim a little over one and a half miles in water that is typically 57 degrees. According to her recent interview with the Indiana Lawyer, acclimating to the water temperature is the most difficult part of the swim. In June, Hall will swim alongside several hundred other swimmers.
She is a little over half way to her current fundraising goal. To donate to Hall’s swim, please visit her American Cancer Society’s fundraising page.
