25th Annual BGD Legislative Conference Welcomes Attorney General-Elect Curtis Hill as a Distinguished Panelist

12.09.2016

INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 9, 2016) - Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP is proud to announce that Attorney General-elect Curtis Hill will serve as a distinguished panelist during the 2016 Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP Legislative Conference at the Indiana Convention Center on December 14. Hill will discuss addiction problems that have been plaguing Indiana, particularly opioid addiction, during the healthcare plenary session panel that also includes Sen. Jim Merritt.

Re-elected in 2006, 2010, and 2014, Hill is currently serving his fourth term as Prosecuting Attorney. He will replace Greg Zoeller as Indiana’s 43rd Attorney General on Jan. 11, 2017, following his November general election win where he led with 63 percent against opponent Lorenzo Arredondo. Hill has testified before Congress on “Methamphetamine in the Heartland” and served as a presenter for the Northern Indiana Methamphetamine Summit Sponsored by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Executive Office of the President of the United States.

“We are thrilled to have Attorney General-elect Curtis Hill as a distinguished panelist during BGD LegCon this year,” said BGD Managing Partner Tobin McClamroch. “We expect the conference to be a great unofficial start to the legislative session, and look forward Hill’s insight into how the State can deal with its addiction crisis and government’s proper role in the solution.”

As in years past, the 25th annual conference will serve as a non-partisan venue that brings together Indiana decision makers, business leaders, policy analysts and engaged public servants to discuss upcoming issues that are important to Hoosiers before the General Assembly convenes.

Presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin will present “How Did We Get Here? A Historical Perspective on Our Wild 2016 Election” as the luncheon keynote speaker. In addition, 17 elected officials are confirmed to speak during the conference, including Governor-elect Eric Holcomb, Attorney General-elect Curtis Hill and House Speaker Rep. Brian C. Bosma.

This year’s session topics include the following:

  • Healthcare: The Opioid Addiction Crisis
  • Assuring Utility in our Utilities; Analyzing Indiana’s Utility Policy and Framework
  • Economic Development
  • Education
  • The Budget
  • Legislative Leadership
  • Gaming
