Angel’s Envy Awarded “2015 Kentucky Deal of the Year” By ACG-KY

Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP congratulates firm client Angel’s Envy on being recognized with the “2015 Kentucky Deal of the Year” award from the Association for Corporate Growth – Kentucky Chapter (ACG-KY) recently. The winner, after being selected by an independent panel of judges, was announced at the ACG-KY Awards Breakfast in Louisville on March 8, 2016.

The inaugural Deal of the Year Awards recognized the leading transactions, restructurings, financings and professional service firms in the Bluegrass State. The awards celebrated the ingenuity and creativity of these industry professionals and recognized their contributions to the Kentuckiana market.

The distillery was recognized as one of three finalists before being awarded Deal of the Year. The parties involved with the win are Angel’s Share Brands/Louisville Distilling Co. (Louisville) and Bacardi Limited (Hamilton, Bermuda). The deal took place in March of 2015, with Angel’s Envy being acquired by Bacardi. Angel’s Envy’s new distillery and brand experience in downtown Louisville is planned for a 2016 opening and will showcase the great tradition of Kentucky bourbon-making.

BGD served as counsel to Angel’s Share Brands during the acquisition and continue to represent the company after the deal. The firm’s Corporate & Transactional Co-Chair Jeffrey A. McKenzie was assisted by attorneys Bradley E. Dillon and Michael J. Holtz and paralegal Donza Luckett on the acquisition.

ACG-Kentucky was formed in 2008 with a goal of promoting middle-market business growth by attracting private-equity capital sources to the region and facilitating merger and acquisition deals.
