Benjamin J. Evans Appointed to Leadership Positions within the ABA’s Taxation Section Employee Benefits Committee
LOUISVILLE, KY: Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC is pleased to announce that Benjamin J. Evans, a Member in the Firm’s Louisville office, has been appointed to leadership positions within the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Taxation Section - Employee Benefits Committee. Ben was recently named Chair of the Important Developments & Publications Subcommittee as well as a Young Lawyer Liaison to the Litigation Subcommittee.
The Employee Benefits Committee of the ABA’s Taxation Section focuses its efforts to prepare and present educational programs on employee benefits topics at each Tax Section meeting. In addition, the Committee evaluates and prepares comments on proposed regulations and other guidance affecting employee benefits. The committee is comprised of several subcommittees and task forces that monitor changes in their respective areas and usually take the lead to prepare comments to the IRS, Treasury and other government agencies.
Ben concentrates his practice in employee benefits law, including qualified retirement plans, employee welfare benefit plans, nonqualified deferred compensation arrangements, COBRA, and ERISA-related litigation. Ben also provides advice regarding benefits issues in corporate transactions, correcting errors in the administration of employee benefit plans, and dividing retirement benefits in divorce. Ben received his B.A. in Philosophy and Medieval Studies, summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame.
