JASPER, Ind. (Nov. 17, 2016) – Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP is pleased to announce that attorney Brittany Brockman has joined the firm and is now a member of the Corporate and Transactional group. She will continue to advise clients in matters involving business and corporations, estate planning and litigation from the Jasper office.

Prior to joining BGD, Brittany served the Indiana Department of Child Services as the sole attorney for Dubois County, where she handled a high volume of successful cases and trials. She was formerly the owner/sole attorney of Brockman Law Firm (Jasper), where she focused her practice in wills, trusts, estates, contracts, business and corporate law, employer compliance, landlord-tenant disputes, bankruptcy defense and personal injury.

Brittany also served as an intern for the Steven C. Bradley Law Office (Jasper), where she completed projects involving estate planning, elder law, insurance, construction, landlord-tenant disputes, corporations, partnerships, lien removal, tax, real estate, employee theft/fraud, and administrative law.

“We are excited to welcome Brittany to our BGD,” said William J. Kaiser, Jr., managing partner of the Jasper office. “Brittany has a sharp intellect and a unique set of skills, drawn both from her experience representing clients in a wide range of legal matters and from her work with wills, trusts, estates and contracts. She will strengthen our team and the firm’s ability to meet the growing and varied needs of our clients.”

Brittany earned her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and her undergraduate from Indiana University. As a law student, she worked as an intern for the IU McKinney School of Law Disability Clinic, and she completed an advanced research comment on constitutional law issues related to animal welfare and infant healthcare decision making. She also completed research projects on wills, trusts, and testamentary capacity, international human rights, and legal aid for domestic violence victims.

As an undergraduate, she completed projects on generational party identification and voting patterns, child abuse and mental health, and legal and natural rights of unborn children. She also worked as an intern for the Indiana State Senate, where she read bills in front of the Senate body and completed projects for Senators and the Secretary of the Senate.

Brittany is a Jasper native and has strong family ties to the community. Her grandmothers, Rita Brockman and Gerry Giesler, reside in Jasper. Her parents are Fred and Jennifer Brockman, also of Jasper, and she has one sister, Amanda Brockman Hoium. She is engaged to Reece Van Winkle, a Dubois County native, and has a son, Jack Schwoeppe.
