Bingham Greenebaum Doll Names Managing Partners for Indianapolis, Louisville, Lexington and Cincinnati; Announces Management Committee

Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP has named regional managing partners, including Mary E. Solada, Indianapolis; Mark H. Oppenheimer, Louisville, Ky.; Carolyn M. Brown, Lexington, Ky.; and Mark T. Hayden, Cincinnati, Ohio. As was previously announced, the managing partners will serve on the firm’s management committee with W. Tobin McClamroch, Co-Chairman; Phillip D. Scott, Co-Chairman; Phillip J. Fowler and Dwayne C. Isaacs. 

Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP was recently formed by the merger of Bingham McHale LLP and Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC. Regional managing partners will identify ways to bring the resources of Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP to the firm’s clients in each market. The managing partners will also be responsible for leading the development of the firm’s attorneys in their respective markets.

The management committee will be responsible for creating the newly merged firm’s strategic vision, and will lead the firm’s attorneys in continually anticipating the needs of each business client, and helping each client meet those needs.

W. Tobin McClamroch, Co-Chairman, is a senior corporate and government lawyer. He is the co-chair of the Legislative Conference, an annual event held prior to the Indiana General Assembly session that offers first-hand information from legislators, elected officials and key decision makers from around the state. McClamroch earned his bachelor’s degree from DePauw University. He is a 1980 graduate of the Indiana University School of Law. 

McClamroch brings a depth of knowledge from across municipal and state government to the firm’s practice. He is a former Parliamentarian to the Indiana House of Representatives and the Indianapolis City-County Council Majority Leader. He serves on the board of directors of Marian University, the Arts Council of Indianapolis, Special Olympics of Indiana, the 100 Club and most recently joined the board of the Indiana Sports Corp. He previously served as president of the Catholic Community Foundation and is the former chairman of the United Catholic Association, Archdiocese of Indianapolis. 

Phillip D. Scott, Co-Chairman, is a trial lawyer and member of the Litigation Practice Group. He represents business clients in federal and state courts and in administrative proceedings. Scott has experience in equine and health care matters. He earned his undergraduate degree from Hanover College in 1964. Scott earned his law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1967. He is a former U.S. Marine Corps captain. 

Scott’s equine experience includes representation of foreign interests in developing thoroughbred breeding and racing operations in the United States, and acting as lead counsel in significant disputes involving equine interests, including bankruptcies. Scott also practices in the field of health care law litigation and dispute resolution by advising administrators and boards of directors of health care institutions regarding legal matters. Scott serves as President of Rabbah Bloodstock, Director of Gainsborough Farm, member of the Thoroughbred Club of America, and is a Trustee and Chairman of the Board for Hanover College located in Madison, Ind. 

Mary E. Solada, Indianapolis Managing Partner, is experienced in all aspects of real estate development, zoning and planning law, as well as government services. She serves as the chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Solada is a 1982 graduate of Indiana University School of Law and was admitted to the Indiana Bar that same year. She earned her undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1978. 

Solada routinely represents private sector and government entity clients in a wide range of areas, from real estate acquisition and redevelopment to procurement and land use. She has worked on behalf of developers of renewable and green energy projects, assisting with land use approvals for wind energy projects, lease negotiations and economic incentives for alternative energy. She has extensive experience representing developers of office, industrial and retail projects. She has also served as a receiver for distressed properties. 

Mark H. Oppenheimer, Louisville Managing Partner, is a member of the Estate Planning Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on business succession, estate planning and estate administration for individuals, families and businesses. Oppenheimer earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in 1986. He earned his law degree from the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law in 1989. 

As an estate planner, Oppenheimer develops and implements plans for the preservation of family harmony and wealth that maximize the transfer of wealth from generation to generation, including the creative use of life insurance and charitable giving, and the preparation of wills and trusts. He advises clients on business continuity matters, including plans for the reorganization or recapitalization of business interests, the use of life insurance for buy-out or retirement purposes, and the transfer of business wealth through planned giving. Oppenheimer serves on Executive Committee for The Temple located in Louisville, Ky., and on the Committee for the Jewish Federation Permanent Endowment. 

Carolyn M. Brown, Lexington Managing Partner, is also Co-Chair of the firm's Environment & Natural Resources Practice Group. She focuses her practice on all areas of environmental law. Brown earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Kentucky in 1979. She earned her law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1982. She is admitted to practice in Kentucky as well as Texas. 

Brown’s practice includes counsel on regulatory requirements, permitting and transactional issues as well as environmental litigation. She serves on the Board of Regents for the American College of Environmental Lawyers and is Chair of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Energy and Environmental Council. 

Mark T. Hayden, Cincinnati Managing Partner, has experience in a wide variety of litigation matters. Hayden concentrates his trial practice on complex business disputes, product liability, insurance coverage, ERISA litigation, trademark/copyright litigation and employment litigation. He earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1983. Hayden earned his law degree from Indiana University School of Law in 1986. 

Hayden helps clients meet their goals through assessment of litigation risks and benefits, communicating those to clients, and working with clients to set realistic litigation goals. He has acted as lead trial counsel in over 50 jury trials and argued before the Kentucky Supreme Court and Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Hayden serves on the Ohio State Bar Association Litigation Section Council’s Newsletter and Publications Committee, the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce Regional Youth Leadership Steering Committee and on the Covington Catholic High School Board of Directors. 

Phillip J. Fowler, Partner, is a member of the Litigation Practice Group, and focuses his practice on the representation of corporate clients and their owners, officers and directors in complex business litigation. Fowler earned a bachelor’s degree with high distinction from the Indiana University School of Business in 1994, where he was awarded the Leete Thompson Memorial Scholarship. He earned his J.D. from the Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1997. During law school, he served as the law clerk for the Honorable David Wells of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. 

Fowler serves on committees of both the Indianapolis Zoo and the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. He is a past chair of the Litigation Section of the Indiana State Bar Association. In 2010, Fowler received the Pro Bono Attorney of the Year award from the Indianapolis Bar Association. 

Dwayne C. Isaacs, Partner, focuses his practice on business and tax planning services primarily for privately-owned business clients and high net worth individuals. Isaacs is a 1989 graduate of Indiana University School of Law and was admitted to the Indiana Bar that same year. He earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1983. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. 

Isaacs serves as general counsel for many of his business clients. He also serves as an advisor for business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. He has significant experience working with all business entity types including corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and tax exempt organizations. He also has extensive business succession planning experience. Isaacs serves as Chair of the Board of The Health Foundation of Greater Indianapolis, Inc. He recently completed his term of service on the board of the Washington Township Schools Foundation, where he also served as president. He is also a former board member of the Indiana Development Finance Authority and the Indiana Public Employees’ Retirement Fund.
