Bingham Greenebaum Doll Welcomes Attorney John W. Scruton
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 5, 2015)—Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP is pleased to announce that experienced intellectual property attorney John W. Scruton has joined the firm’s Louisville office. He is a member of the Corporate and Transactional practice group and is the firm’s tenth intellectual property attorney. John’s practice includes trademark, patent, copyright and trade secrets, licensing and intellectual property litigation.

John's practice includes all phases of trademark selection, as well as state, federal and international registration. John also handles oppositions to pending trademark applications and actions to cancel existing registrations. He is also active in litigating trademark, copyright, patent, unfair competition and trade secret cases. In addition, John negotiates and drafts licenses, assignments and other transactions involving intellectual property assets, and provides counsel concerning intellectual property strategies.
John graduated from Yale University in 1981 with a B.A. in History. He earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law in 1986, graduating fifth in his class. He was a John M. Olin Fellow for the Study of Law and Economics and a member of the Order of Coif.
In addition, John is on the board of The Louisville Leopard Percussionists, Teach Kentucky and Yale in Kentucky. He is a member of First Unitarian Church of Louisville.
