Bingham McHale Case Study Sheds Light on Major Job Creation Opportunity in East Central Indiana
Bingham McHale LLP is pleased to announce the release of its case study on the recent EB-5 Regional Center established in partnership with Energize-ECI in East Central Indiana. The case study provides an overview of the EB-5 Regional Center concept and Bingham McHale’s role in the complex application process necessary to secure the federal designation.
“The Bingham McHale LLP team worked closely with the leaders of Energize-ECI and their partners to evaluate the EB-5 Regional Center project, and to develop and implement the process that would secure this designation from the federal government,” said Andy Gruber, partner at Bingham McHale LLP. “The EB-5 Regional Center has the potential to bring thousands of jobs to East Central Indiana over the next five years. This case study could be a powerful example for other regions affected by the loss of traditional manufacturing jobs.”
East Central Indiana was hit hard during the economic downturn, which included the loss of hundreds of jobs at BorgWarner and other manufacturing facilities. Gruber recognized that the area was a good fit for an EB-5 Regional Center, and approached the Energize-ECI economic development group about the opportunity. Together, they worked with other partners and consultants to complete the more than 1,100-page application needed to achieve EB-5 Regional Center status from the federal government.
