Bingham McHale completes fourth year in Providence Cristo Rey Corporate Work Study Program

Bingham McHale LLP recently wrapped up its fourth academic year participating in Providence Cristo Rey High School’s Corporate Work Study Program, which offers a rigorous combination of college preparatory classes and external job opportunities to students in preparation for their university studies. Over the course of the academic year, freshman Omar Ramirez spent eight hours per week at Bingham McHale LLP indexing, filing, typing and running errands, while gaining valuable work experience.

“We are grateful for the chance to serve Providence Cristo Rey High School and provide these students with a firsthand opportunity to experience how Bingham McHale LLP functions within the community, all while ensuring these students continue receiving a top-notch education,” said W. Tobin McClamroch, managing partner of the firm. “We want to thank Omar for his hard work and professionalism. The quality of service he provided indicates he is ready and prepared to take the next step in his educational and professional life.”

Providence Cristo Rey students work one day a week at Indianapolis companies like Bingham McHale LLP, gaining valuable experience and earning 60 percent of their yearly high school tuition. The Corporate Work Study Program makes a private, college preparatory education affordable to families facing economic challenges.

“Bingham McHale is a great place to work,” Ramirez said. “They really take the time to get to know you, and they’re all great and friendly people. I’ve learned so much this year.”

Ramirez concluded his time of service with Bingham McHale in early June. He is looking forward to taking part in the work study program again next year.
