Darby Turner Awarded Commerce Lexington's "Public Policy Advocate of the Year" Award
Darby Turner was presented with the prestigious "Public Policy Advocate of the Year" Award at Commerce Lexington's annual dinner on February 9, 2012. Darby's service to Commerce Lexington and his key role in advocating for Lexington business interests and economic development were highlighted upon his recognition.
Commerce Lexington Inc. was formed in January 2004 with the merger of the Greater Lexington Chamber of Commerce, Lexington United, and the Lexington Partnership for Workforce Development. Commerce Lexington Inc. seeks to promote economic development, job creation, and overall business growth in Lexington and its neighboring communities, while strengthening its existing businesses through the many programs and services that the organization offers. It was created to provide more continuity and enhanced focus in the areas of business, economic development, and workforce development.
Darby currently serves on Commerce Lexington's Board of Directors as its Vice President of Economic Development. Darby has previously served as Chairman and General Counsel for the organization.
