February 16 Proclaimed “Brackets For Good Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP Day” by Louisville Mayor
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Feb. 16, 2016) – Mayor Greg E. Fischer has proclaimed Feb. 16, 2016, as "Brackets For Good Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP Day" in Louisville. This announcement comes as Brackets For Good and BGD present the second annual pep rally tip-off event for the competitive giving tournament later today.
BGD and Brackets For Good will celebrate this proclamation alongside event sponsors, supporters and participating local non-profits during the pep rally tip-off event at the Foundry at Glassworks this evening. The high-energy gathering will reveal the first round of match-ups, introduce sponsors and more. BGD proudly returns as the Louisville tournament presenting sponsor again in 2016.
“We’re thrilled to show our support of these very deserving organizations through our title sponsorship of the 2016 Brackets For Good tournament,” said Louisville Office Managing Partner Mark H. Oppenheimer. “This tournament provides an exciting way for the community to learn about and support nonprofits in their own backyards. We look forward to participating in the fundraising madness again this year.”
At the pep rally, the Brackets For Good team will reveal the never-before-seen Tournament Bracket, showcase the competitive fundraising technology, share best practices, answer questions and encourage participating charities to begin fundraising strategy discussions. Free pizza and beer will be provided courtesy of Daredevil Brewing. The 2016 Louisville Pep Rally event kicks off at 6 p.m. and is free to attend; RSVP online at http://bit.ly/2016BFGLouisville.
Last year, the inaugural Louisville tournament raised more than $250,000 to benefit local non-profits. This year, BFG has expanded into three additional markets: St. Louis, Missouri; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota; the fundraising tournament will also return to Louisville and Indianapolis.
Less than two weeks remain before the tournaments in participating cities tip off at 8 p.m. on Feb. 26, 2016. Once the tournament begins, the 64 participating charities will start competing for the $10,000 grand prize provided by the presenting sponsor. One hundred percent of the donations raised through the web-based competitive giving tournament will go to the participating nonprofit organizations.
The 2016 Louisville Brackets For Good Tournament is presented by Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP and is also sponsored by Harding, Shymanski & Company, P.S.C., America’s Window, Valeo Financial Advisors LLC and Epic Insurance Solutions. Additional tournament details are available at louisville.bfg.org.
