Firm Client OLD 55 Distillery Releases First Batch of Single Barrel Bourbon

BGD would like to congratulate client Old 55 Distillery of Newtown, Indiana, on the recent release of its first batch of single barrel bourbon whiskey. The distillery hosted a well-attended launch party at North End Barbecue & Moonshine in Indianapolis in March to celebrate. The newest addition to the Old 55 family is an Indiana bourbon made from Hoosier corn and wheat that is distilled and aged in new American oak charred barrels.

The brand is named after “Old 55,” the winding country backroad upon which the distillery (an old converted elementary school) is located in Newtown.  “You won't find a road that better captures the Midwest,” according to their website, and their bourbon is intended to capture this same spirit. The distillery prides themselves on family ownership, using exclusively locally grown corn, and employing only the finest distilling techniques using a custom-built potstill designed and handmade in Germany.

The new single barrel bourbon whiskey can be requested at any Indiana package store. Old 55 Distillery is represented by BGD partner Daniel L. Boots and attorney Michael J. McGee.
