Firm Raises $4,000 for T.C. Howe Academy
On December 11th, the firm held its annual Howe Auction and raised $4,000 to benefit families of Thomas Carr Howe Academy during the holiday season. Marge Bugbee, Guidance Counselor and partner for the Mentoring Program at Howe, helps in the process of picking, screening and distributing the funds to needy families of Howe and reports this year the Firm assisted 40 families with a total of 90 children in the form of Wal-Mart gift cards. Funds are raised from a day-long bake sale and silent auction that wraps up with the winner of a Rock Band contest singing karaoke. Employees nominate and bid each other to sing in the contest. The employee with the highest bid then “performs” at the close of the auction. Donated items range from an autograph picture of Colts’ Coach Caldwell to iFlip digital camcorder and handmade golf clubs, gift cards from Ruth’s Chris, Conrad Hotel and suite tickets to a Pacers game. The Firm has held the holiday auction since 1996.
