Greenebaum Attorneys Selected for Inclusion in Who’s Who Legal USA

LOUISVILLE, KY:  Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC is pleased to announce that John W. Ames, Richard S. Cleary and Philip C. Eschels have been selected for inclusion in the attorney reference publication, Who’s Who Legal USA. Mr. Ames was recognized in the 2011 edition of The International Who’s Who of Insolvency & Restructuring Lawyers and was the only attorney from Kentucky listed in the publication. Mr. Cleary and Mr. Eschels were recognized in the 2011 edition of The International Who’s Who of Management Labour & Employment Lawyers. 

Mr. Ames, Mr. Cleary and Mr. Eschels received nominations from clients and peers from across the world in the course of research for these publications. These books are a result of six months of independent research incorporating feedback from lawyers and in-house counsel.

Mr. Ames is a member of Greenebaum’s Tax and Finance Practice Group. He is the firm’s Bankruptcy and Workout Team Co-Chair and also the Vietnam Team Chair. He works exclusively in the business reorganization process, both in Chapter 11's and state law work outs. He represents debtors, as well as creditors, both secured and unsecured. He has served as a Chapter 7 Trustee for 24 years, a Chapter 12 Trustee for 12 years and has been appointed as creditors' committee counsel. Mr. Ames is also a former President of the American Bankruptcy Institute (2009-2010). He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville and his law degree from the University of Louisville School of Law. 

Mr. Cleary is the Chair of Greenebaum’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. He represents employers exclusively. His practice includes collective bargaining, the litigation of labor claims before the courts, the National Labor Relations Board and arbitral forums, the defense of employment and wage/hour actions, and counseling concerning the labor and employment law implications of corporate restructuring. Mr. Cleary received his bachelor’s degree from Washington and Lee University and his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. 

Mr. Eschels is a member of Greenebaum’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, and is the Covenant Not to Compete and Trade Secrets Team Chair. He represents employers in defending against employment-related claims in both federal and state courts. He represents clients involving covenants not to compete and the protection of trade secrets. Mr. Eschels also counsels employers and trains management personnel concerning a wide range of employment-related topics including harassment, how to prevent discrimination lawsuits and how to minimize potential liability when hiring, disciplining and firing employees. Mr. Eschels received his bachelor’s degree from Concordia College, his master’s degree from Ball State University and his law degree from Indiana University School of Law.
