Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller to Keynote Bingham McHale Legislative Conference
Bingham McHale LLP is pleased to announce that Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller will be the keynote speaker at the 20th annual Bingham McHale Legislative Conference on Dec. 15, 2011, at the Marriott Downtown Indianapolis. The keynote address is scheduled to begin at noon.
“We are pleased to have Attorney General Zoeller as our distinguished keynote speaker,” said W. Tobin McClamroch, Managing Partner of the firm. “As the unofficial start to the legislative session, the Bingham McHale Legislative Conference serves as a non-partisan venue for Indiana’s leaders to discuss the upcoming legislative issues that are important to Hoosiers. Attorney General Zoeller will share his legislative agenda for 2012 during his keynote address.”
The Attorney General’s top legislative priorities for 2012 include state legislation to curb human trafficking surrounding the 2012 Super Bowl, to create stronger enforcement of the state’s public access laws and to deter misappropriation of public funds by local government officials. In his role administering the state’s telephone privacy laws, Zoeller is also working to oppose federal legislation in Congress that would negatively impact Indiana’s popular “Do Not Call” list.
“Consumer protection and law enforcement legislation traditionally have enjoyed bipartisan support in both the Indiana House and Indiana Senate and I am honored to be asked to share some new ideas to protect Hoosiers,” Zoeller said.
The 2011 Bingham McHale Legislative Conference will also include a presentation on the annual Hoosier Survey results from the Ball State University Bowen Center for Public Affairs, the annual media panel, a panel discussion on the state budget and a roundtable discussion by Indiana legislative leaders. Breakout sessions will be held in the morning and the afternoon. For a detailed list of breakout sessions, visit www.thelegislativeconference.com.
