IU Maurer School of Law Recognizes BGD as a Top 2015 Fundraising Supporter
Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP has been recognized for high-ranking support of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. The firm has been named among the top five fundraisers for the 2015 annual fund law firm and corporation challenge after raising $14,265, thanks to generous contributions from BGD IU Maurer alumni. Partner Margaret Christensen serves as the firm solicitor on behalf of the law school.
The law school’s annual fund supports a climate of financial flexibility that enables the school to respond quickly and nimbly to educational opportunities, unforeseen challenges, and student and faculty needs. Staffing, administering, and sustaining these programs often requires funding beyond what is already committed to the law school’s teaching and research budgets. Gifts to the annual fund provide the flexibility necessary to capitalize on unplanned opportunities and respond to emergencies. This has become especially critical in today’s rapidly changing world, marked by intense competition among law schools.
More than 20 percent of the school’s alumni participate in the fund. A strong annual fund is a sign that alumni have faith in the law school and its trajectory, and it builds a pipeline of donors for future campaigns. A robust annual fund also helps attract grants from philanthropic entities.
For more than 150 years, the Indiana University Maurer School of Law has stood with the nation’s greatest public law schools, preparing students to become accomplished, ethical lawyers and leaders. In recent years, the law school has emerged as an innovator in legal education, with a curriculum that meets the demands of a changing profession.
