Maggie Keane Nominated for Vacant Judge Position
A Judicial Nominating Commission committee yesterday recommended three attorneys to fill the Jefferson Circuit Court vacancy created by the death of Judge Kathleen Voor Montano.
The commission nominated Irv Maze, who has served about 10 years as Jefferson County attorney; Ted Shouse, an assistant public advocate with the Kentucky Department of Advocacy; and attorney Margaret Keane.
Gov. Steve Beshear has 60 days to choose one of the three. The appointment will last until the November election.
If Maze is chosen, Metro Mayor Jerry Abramson would name an interim county attorney.
Montano died in April of complications from pneumonia.
