Mark H. Oppenheimer Named Deputy Chairman of Greenebaum’s Louisville Office
LOUISVILLE, KY: Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC is pleased to announce that Mark H. Oppenheimer has been named Deputy Chairman of the firm’s Louisville office. Mr. Oppenheimer joins Mark T. Hayden and David A. Owen as Deputy Chairmen of the firm’s Greater Cincinnati and Lexington offices, respectively.
Mr. Oppenheimer succeeds Patrick R. Northam, who served as Deputy Chairman of the Louisville office for over two years. After nine years of serving multiple roles in firm management, Mr. Northam elected to step down as Deputy Chairman to once again serve his clients on a full-time basis. He will continue to practice in the areas of corporate, mergers & acquisitions, and energy & natural resources law.
Mr. Oppenheimer is a member of the firm’s Estate Planning, Health and Insurance Practice Group, and is the Family Business Team Co-Chair. He concentrates his practice on business succession, estate planning and estate administration for individuals, families and businesses. As an estate planner, he develops and implements plans for the preservation of family harmony and wealth that maximize the transfer of wealth from generation to generation, including the creative use of life insurance and charitable giving, and the preparation of tax efficient wills and trusts. As the Family Business Team Co-Chair, Mr. Oppenheimer advises clients on business continuity matters, including plans for the reorganization or recapitalization of business interests, the use of life insurance for buy-out or retirement purposes, and the transfer of business wealth through planned giving.
Mr. Oppenheimer received his certification in family business advising from The Family Firm Institute, Inc. in 2009 and was selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America publication (2010 – 2011). He is very active in his local community and serves in various leadership roles, including the Executive Committee for The Temple and on the Committee for the Jewish Federation Permanent Endowment. He is a past member of the Board of Directors (President) for The Temple, Board of Directors for Hillel (University of Louisville), Board of Directors for USA Harvest, Professional Advisory Committee for the Boy Scouts of America, and is a graduate of the Leadership Louisville program.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and his law degree from the University of Louisville, Louis D. Brandeis School of Law.
