New Directors for DAQ, DOW, and DCA Appointed and new Executive Director of LMAPCD Appointed
Effective Feb. 16, 2014, Sean Alteri has been appointed Director of the Division for Air Quality (DAQ), Peter Goodmann has been appointed Director of the Division of Water (DOW), and Julia Kays has been appointed Director of the Division of Compliance Assistance (DCA). All three of these individuals take on these positions after having served in an Acting Director capacity following the promotions of their successors. Mr. Alteri succeeds John Lyons, who now serves as the Assistant Secretary for Climate Policy in the Energy and Environment Cabinet. Mr. Goodmann succeeds Sandy Gruzesky, who now serves as the Deputy Commissioner of the Department for Natural Resources.
Mr. Alteri, Mr. Goodman, and Ms. Kays join an existing team of Directors that includes Jason Whisman, who was appointed Director of the Division of Environmental Programs Support (DEPS) in October of 2013, Jeff Cummins, Director of the Division of Enforcement (DENF), and Tony Hatton, Director of the Division of Waste Management (DWM).
On Jan. 17, 2014, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer announced that Keith Talley is being appointed as the new Executive Director of the Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (LMAPCD). Mr. Talley has been the Interim Executive Director since November, following Lauren Anderson’s resignation effective Oct. 31, 2013. Mr. Talley was Deputy Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions prior to his appointment at the LMAPCD.
