The Positive Value of Potentially Merging the Commercial Gaming and Lottery Industies Into One
As the worlds of both commercial/casino gaming and lotteries continue to grow and evolve, some in the industry have begun to identify the value in merging the two industries into one. In the recently released June issue of the International Association of Gaming Advisors’ (IAGA) “G3 Magazine,” Phil Sicuso and Ali Bartlett Miranda weigh in on this matter in their article entitled, “Blurring the Lines: The Interplay between Lotteries and Gaming.”
They explain that while this type of combination would arguably advance both industries and provide expanded entertainment and play opportunities for consumers, there are several regulatory and technological considerations that cannot be overlooked in moving toward this new concept.
