Phillip Scott Receives Distinguished Honor from Alma Mater

clientuploads/_PLP0753 (3).JPGBingham Greenebaum Doll LLP partner Phillip D. Scott received an honorary doctor of law degree at Hanover College’s 181st Commencement. The ceremony was held at Hanover’s campus in Hanover, Indiana on May 24, 2014. 

Scott, a 1964 alumnus of Hanover College, served as chairman of the college’s Board of Trustees for the past eight years. As a student at Hanover College, he majored in history and political science. He was a member of the football team and Sigma Chi fraternity. Following his undergraduate education, Scott earned his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years, where he achieved the rank of captain. 

“It is a great honor to receive an honorary doctor of law degree from my alma mater,” said Scott. “I have a deep commitment to Hanover College and the liberal arts. I look forward to the college’s continued success.” 

Scott currently serves as member of BGD’s Litigation practice group in the firm’s Lexington office. He represents business clients in federal and state courts and in administrative proceedings. In addition, he has significant experience in equine and health care matters. Scott was active in the management of the firm, stepping down as co-chairman in 2014.
