Roxana S. Bell Appointed to Coalition for Court Access by Indiana Supreme Court

As reported by The Indiana Lawyer, BGD attorney Roxana S. Bell has been appointed to serve on the newly formed Coalition for Court Access after an order amending the Indiana Rules of Professional Conduct was signed by Chief Justice Loretta Rush. Members of the coalition will be appointed by the Supreme Court and the Indiana Bar Foundation.

The order, which took effect on May 17, consolidates the three existing legal aid committees, the Indiana Pro Bono Commission, the Indiana Commission to Expand Access to Civil Legal Services and the Indiana Supreme Court Committee on Unrepresented Litigants, into the new Coalition for Court Access. According to the publication, the 17-member coalition will manage all Supreme Court-related programs designed to provide civil legal aid to low-income individuals. Goals for the group include increasing the number of attorneys who participate in pro bono; coordination of services offered by pro bono and legal aid organizations; and improving delivery of civil legal services.

Bell also serves as president of the Marion Country Bar Association. She focuses her practice in the areas of discrimination defense, general employment and workplace policies. Bell was named a 2015 “Up & Coming Lawyer” by Indiana Lawyer and is a graduate of the 2015 Collaborative Bar Leadership Academy (CBLA) and Class XII of the Indianapolis Bar Association Bar Leaders Series. She also recently completed a two-year term (2014-2016) in the American Bar Association Section of Labor & Employment Young Lawyers Division Fellowship Program. Bell also serves on the Young Lawyers Division Executive Board of the National Bar Association.

Please join the firm in congratulating Roxana on her esteemed appointment.
